Dr. Scott C. Scheidt is a native of Savannah, GA, but grew up in the Black Creek area of Bryan County, GA and graduated from Bryan County High School in 1993. Scott is a 30 plus year military veteran and currently serves in the Army Reserves holding the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) with training and work experience in multiple areas to include Weapons of Mass Destruction, All- Source Intelligence Operations, Electronic Warfare, and Cyber Operations.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Georgia Southern University - Armstrong Campus, a Master in Business Administration (M.BA.) in Global Logistics Management from Touro University, a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Cybersecurity Technology from UMGC, and a Ph.D. in Cybersecurity from Trident University.
Dr. Scheidt holds industry cyber certifications that include Certified Cyber Security Operations Manager – C)CSOM, Certified Network Forensics Analysis Manager – C)NFAM, Certified Cyber Incident Response Manager – C)CIRM, and Certified Disaster Response & Recovery Manager – C)DRRM.
Dr. Scheidt is the Chief Security Officer for Seimitsu, a 40 year old technology company in Savannah where he leads, the Seimitsu TrueSecure Fusion Team (STFT). The STFT is an interdisciplinary team of IT and security staff that works in a culture which encourages and promotes positive security behaviors and work practices in risk management and mitigation, physical security, and cybersecurity.
As a leader, Dr. Scheidt motivates people to work in a team-based, matrixed, participative, and results-oriented environment. The STFT supports sales by helping with security-related customer requests and advising on security and compliance-related product/service offerings.
The STFT supports organization leadership, management teams, and clients when vetting potential systems or service acquisitions from a Security Operations and Compliance standpoint. In addition, the STFT oversees policy standards and implementation strategies to ensure procedures and guidelines comply with physical and cybersecurity policies in accordance with ISO 27001/2 framework, NIST 800-171, FISMA/FedRAMP, SSAE 18, GDPR, CMMC, ITAR, and other relevant compliance standards.
As an adjunct professor, Dr. Scheidt teaches cybersecurity related courses to include Cyber Warfare, Network Defense and Countermeasures, Computer Forensics, Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing, and Security Policies and Procedures.
